Gaza Fighting Grinds Life to a Halt as War Returns

Less than a minute after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas expired on Friday, the first of dozens of rockets were launched into Israel, sparking sirens in the country's south and ending three days of relative quiet in Gaza, where many thought the war was over. By day's end, at least 61 rockets were fired into Israel and the Israeli army had launched attacks on 70 targets in Gaza, killing at least 5 Palestinians and wounding 30 more. An Israeli soldier and two other people were injured by the rockets.
