Friday on "The Steve Harvey Show," high school senior Hector Montez honors teacher and football coach Thomas Walser as this week’s "Harvey Hero."
On the show, Montez reveals he was struggling in the foster care system for 11 years, something he never told his football coach. With the stability, love and guidance that his coach offered him, Montez was able to rise above failing grades and bad crowds at school.
Montez presents coach Walser with a pair of Nike Air Jordans that he mentioned he wanted two years ago--Montez never forgot that.
Montez will receive a gift from Steve also, a surprise check to go toward his college fund.
