Indonesia Plane Crash Toll Over 140; Air Force Review Ordered

Indonesia is set to review its aging air force fleet, the president announced Wednesday as the death toll from a military transport plane crash climbed past 140. The C-130B Hercules aircraft, which went into service 50 years ago, crashed into a residential area of the city of Medan on Tuesday, just two minutes after takeoff. The plane had been carrying 122 people, so the death toll suggests around 20 people were killed on the ground as the plane crashed. "There must be an evaluation of the age of planes and defense systems," President Joko Widodo tweeted as crews worked through the night to recover bodies from the rubble.
