Infant-Toting Man, Accomplice Wanted in Target Vacuum Thefts

Surveillance video captured the man removing security tags from vacuum boxes, police say

Police on Monday asked for the public's help to find a woman and an infant-toting man whom they believe worked together to steal over $1,000 worth of vacuums from a Super Target in Murrieta.

Security footage taken Aug. 30 showed the man, with a baby boy in his shopping cart and a teenage girl by his side, removing security tags from two Dyson vacuums at a Super Target in the 27000 block of Clinton Keith Road, according to the Murrieta Police Department.

Minutes later, a woman is seen taking the two vacuums, putting them in her cart and leaving the store without paying, police said.

The woman returned to the Super Target Sept. 28, where a loss prevention employee recognized her in the checkout stand with another Dyson vacuum in her cart, officials said.

The employee approached the woman, but she insisted he could not touch her and walked away, leaving the shopping cart behind, police said.

The woman was last seen in Murrieta near the bus stop at McElwain Road, officials said.

Anyone with information about these suspects is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Gomez at 951-461-6356.
