Renewed Israeli Shelling in Gaza Kills 62

Israel bombarded a southern Gaza town overnight Saturday, killing at least 62 people, during what should have been a weekend of a proposed cease fire, NBC News reported. The heaviest shelling focused on where the Israeli military believe an officer, 2nd Lt. Hadar Goldin, was captured by Hamas in an ambush which shattered a 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire. Since fighting began on July 8, more than 1,672 Palestinians have been killed and more than 9,000 wounded. Israel has lost 63 soldiers and three civilians.
