Kerry Washington Set to Host “Saturday Night Live”

Studio 8H, prepare to be handled.

"Scandal's" fierce leading lady Kerry Washington will host "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 2, NBC announced today. This will be her first time hosting the sketch comedy series.

Joining her as the musical guest is Eminem, making his sixth appearance on the show. His new album "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" comes out Nov. 5.

The announcement that the ABC star is hosting "SNL" is very timely, considering that this week castmember Keenan Thompson talked to TVGuide.com about the lack of diversity on the show, blaming the fact there are no qualified black female comedians out there.

"It's just a tough part of the business," Thompson said in the interview. "Like in auditions, they just never find ones that are ready."

Maybe now with Washington gracing "SNL" with her presence we will get a good Michelle Obama sketch, or perhaps Olivia Pope will appear to fix this government shutdown?

NBC also announced that Edward Norton will be hosting for the first time on Oct. 26, with musical guest Janelle Monae making her "SNL" debut.
