LAPD Officer Accused of Falsifying 18 Days of Time Sheets, Taking Home Extra $8,543

If convicted as charged, she could face up to three years in state prison.

A Los Angeles police officer who allegedly received more than $8,000 by submitting false time sheets pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a grand theft charge.

Monica Renee Moore, 47, is accused of falsely reporting that she was at work 18 times between April and October 2018, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Moore received $8,543 in compensation for those days, which she allegedly did not work, according to Deputy District Attorney Saeed Teymouri.

A date is scheduled to be set June 26 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to allow the case against her to proceed to trial.

If convicted as charged, she could face up to three years in state prison, according to the District Attorney's Office.
