Lifeguards Locate Body of Missing Man in Water Off Santa Monica

Search teams Saturday located the body of a man who jumped into the water from the Santa Monica Pier.

The jumper was reported just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. An exact location of where he jumped was not reported. He was later found by search teams at 9:37 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

The jumper was described as a black man in his 30s, wearing blue jeans and a red T-shirt, the U.S. Coast Guard reported.

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach command center asked anyone with information regarding the jumper to call them at 310-521-3801.
