An 18-year-old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24, killing 19 children and two teachers and injuring many more in their last week of school before the summer break.

It was the deadliest U.S. school shooting since a gunman killed 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, almost a decade ago.
