Banks Putting Human Tellers in ATMs

ATMs are getting an upgrade — with a personal touch. Tech company NCR developed the new Interactive Teller, which gives you the option of involving a human bank employee in your transaction, NBC News reported. The machines have video chatting capability and the teller can take control of the machine to help the customer. Unlike the traditional machine, this new one with a remote human teller can confirm your identity via your driver's license if your forget your bank card. The interactive machine can also give you change in any denomination you request. “They’re more convenient, faster and safer — robberies basically go away with this — and they allow us to provide better service,” said Willard Ross, chief retail officer at Coastal Federal Credit Union. A few companies across the United States have adopted the new machines and 350 are currently in service.
