Romney Tops Obama in May Fundraising

Mitt Romney and related Republican groups raked in more cash than Team Obama in May, giving the former Massachusetts governor his first monthly fundraising win of the 2012 cycle, The Associated Press reported. The Romney campaign and the Republican National Committee reported having raised more than $76.8 million in May, compared to a $60 million haul for Obama and the Democratic National Committee. Back in April, Team Romney reported having raised $40 million and Obama's camp $43.6 million. Later filings showed a greater share of Romney's April haul came from large donations from deep-pocketed supporters than Obama had relied on. The same trend may prove true of May's $76.8 million war chest, NBC News reported.
