Secretary of State Hillary Clinton promised to give India whatever support it needed to protect itself from terrorists, according to The Associated Press. "We are allies in the fight against violent extremist networks," she said on Tuesday. The visit comes less than a week after 20 people were killed in a triple bombing in the financial capital of Mumbai. In addition to discussing terrorism, Clinton said the United States was "encouraged" by talks between nuclear-arms rivals India and Pakistan. Clinton also urged New Delhi to open markets faster and encouraged economic cooperation.
