The FBI has arrested a Pakistani intelligence agent for making thousands of dollars in political contributions without disclosing his connections to the Pakistani government. Syed Ghulam Fai is being charged with being an unregistered agent or lobbyist and will appear in federal court in Virginia Tuesday afternoon. Politico reports he made his biggest contribution, $5,000, to the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2006. He also donated to the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Dan Burton (R, In.), Barack Obama and Rep. Yvette Clark (D-NY).
