Nationwide Vigils Honor Slain Mo. Teen Michael Brown

Thousands of people gathered in more than 100 cities around the U.S. on Thursday to remember Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was shot by police last weekend in Ferguson, Missouri, putting the St. Louis suburb in the national spotlight. Organizers used the hashtag #NMOS14 to organize a national moment of silence at 7:20 p.m. ET from coast to coast in honor of Brown. Thousands gathered in New York's Times Square and in Washington D.C. Meanwhile, eight people were arrested in Miami after entering a federal courthouse to confront a U.S. Attorney about police brutality in the city.
