No New TV Adventures for “Old Christine”

"The New Adventures of Old Christine" has run out of appeals. It is a Dead Show Walking.

The May 12 season finale on CBS will also be the series finale. The show about a recently-divorced single mother ran for five seasons.

EW.com reports that Warner Bros. TV pulled the plug on this Julia Louis-Dreyfus vehicle  after a last minute attempt for resurrection on ABC failed.

While I wasn't a big fan of the formulaic comedy, at least it broke the much-discussed Seinfeld curse for Louis-Dreyfus, who landed an Emmy on the show. And the once edgy Louis-Dreyfus also seems to have captured a profitable "Healthy Choice" ad campaign from the whole gig. The show also carried a significant audience in its hey-day.

The crushing ABC decision was the last straw. Last week, ABC also passed on a chance to rescue Jennifer Love-Hewitt's canceled CBS show "Ghost Whisperer." How the mighty have fallen.
