OC Firefighters Rescue Husky From ‘Ruff' Situation

Doctors said Bam Bam is now in stable condition and recovering, and will be going home Thursday.

Orange County firefighters were busy with an unusual incident Wednesday as they helped relieve a dog who got stuck in the rim of a wheel.

Bam Bam, a husky from the Tustin area, was taken by his owners to a clinic, but doctors were unable to help him due to the swelling in his neck and head.

“The fire department had to come in,” said Doctor Leyla Fatourechi from the VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists, “and saw the metallic tire rim and made a slightly larger hole to get him out.”

The Orange County Fire Authority posted photos of Bam Bam on Facebook and showed the process of how they removed the tire from his head.

Several people commented on the series of photos the department posted. Many congratulated and thanked the firefighters with comments like “Oh man that’s crazy, poor puppy! Thank goodness for the OC fire authority” and “Thank you for removing the largest cone of shame that I have ever seen.”
