“Office” Gossip: Dwight Schrute in Charge Would Mean Mutiny

There would be trouble brewing if Dwight Schrute took over the offices of Dunder Mifflin. We heard it personally from the warehouse supervisor, Daryl Philbin (known in real life as Craig Robinson).

"I don't know how many people would work in that office if Dwight was the boss," he tells PopcornBiz.

Robinson, a guest at the "Comedy Central Roast for David Hasselhoff," gratefully adds that Dwight at the controls "would be hilarious." Best watch what you wish for.

But in terms of guesses as to who will fill the spot once Michael Scott (Steve Carell) departs, Robinson has no idea. "I'm just trying to keep my job over there," he says. "I know nothing."

Well he does know something. His character is not likely to move from the warehouse to the big office, even if Daryl has grown in prominence in past years.

"I wouldn't hold my breath for that," he says of getting the top job. "But I would relish the opportunity."

He's also sure that the show can go on without Carell. "I'm not saying he's easy to replace by any means," says Robinson. "But they'll be able to at least squeeze out an episode without him."
