Romney: I'll Put Ads on Big Bird

Watch out, Big Bird. Mitt Romney's gunning for you. The Republican presidential candidate said Thursday that if elected, he would cut off public funding for PBS, which produces the iconic "Sesame Street." And Romney singled out everyone's big feathered friend. "We're not going to kill Big Bird," he said. "But Big Bird is going to have advertisements. All right?" PBS isn't Romney's only target. He said he he will stop funding 'certain programs' to help balance the budget. "Close them. Turn 'em off, he said. "Even some you like." Romney made the comments at Homer's Deli in Clinton, Iowa, just five days before the Iowa caucuses. New polls show Romney leading in both Iowa and New Hampshire.
