Syria Still Using Chemical Weapons, Investigators Allege

International inspectors have received "credible allegations" that Syria is still using chemical weapons, the White House said Wednesday, Reuters reported. The Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad had pledged to surrender its chemical weapons stockpiles after it launched sarin gas attacks that killed hundreds of people in a Damascus suburb, but international inspectors have found traces of the deadly nerve gas at one of Syria's previously undisclosed military research site. "We're aware that the [Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons] continues to receive credible allegations that the use of chemical weapons in Syria is still taking place," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters in a briefing.
