Ukraine Plans May 25 Election to Replace Ousted President

Despite President Viktor Yanukovych's whereabouts remaining unknown, officials in Ukraine have already begun preparations for presidential elections as early May 25. The country’s Central Election Commission posted an election calendar document to its website early Tuesday which allows candidates until April 4 to register for the race. However, Moscow said elections should be delayed until after the conclusion of constitutional reforms that were agreed Friday. Ukraine is now being governed by an interim government led by parliament speaker Oleksandr Turchinov.
