Berkeley Radio to Give Al Jazeera a Platform

Don't share this link on George W. Bush's Facebook wall but the television station the previous administration did not want shown in American households is getting an hour on local radio.

Proudly liberal Berkeley-based radio station KPFA will begin broadcasting an hour of news produced by Al Jazeera.

The Qatar-based news network has long been a thorn in the side of American officials, who argue the station gives a platform for anti-American forces.

While in the Arab world and even in parts of Europe, the station is seen a legitimate alternative to the likes of CNN International.

The Al Jazeera programming debuted in Berkeley, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. on KPFA's national syndicate Pacifica.
