An official from the National September 11 Memorial Museum said Donald Trump donated $100,000 to the site, NBC News reported
Trump and his wife, Melania, were given a tour of the museum Saturday afternoon by its president and CEO, Joe Daniels, according to the Republican presidential candidate’s campaign.
Trump’s campaign released a statement, saying Trump and his wife were “impressed with the museum.” The statement also took a shot at rival Ted Cruz, saying: “This is what ‘New York Values’ is all about.” Cruz used the term earlier in the primary process to question Trump’s conservatism.
Trump’s visit comes after a few quiet days on the campaign trail, with no public events since his rally on Long Island Wednesday night.
