Amazon's Kindle Offers WikiLeaks Cables in Book Form

Amazon may refuse to host WikiLeaks site but you can read all the diplomatic cables released by the whistler blower website on your Kindle.

Excerpts of the cables are available in the form of an e-book on Amazon's U.K. website. An author dubbed Heinz Duthel has self-published the cables and is selling them for $11.60.

Amazon came under fire for shutting down WikiLeaks website in the US after the site released sensitive diplomatic documents. Amazon used to host the server that was home to the US WikiLeaks site.

On Thursday, many Amazon users were not impressed to find the cables available for purchase. But controversial books are nothing new for Amazon's digital reader.

Last month many questioned Amazon's criterion for allowing books on its reader when a self-published book offering advice to pedophiles was available for purchase.

Ultimately Amazon pulled the plug on that book and many expect the company will do the same with the WikiLeaks documents.
