Green Party Candidate Arrested Outside Debate

Laura Green Gets Nabbed Protesting Her Exclusion

Laura Wells, the Green Party candidate for governor of California, was arrested outside Angelico Hall on Dominican University in San Rafael just before the gubenatorial debate between Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown was to begin.

She was protesting her exclusion from the event.  California's candidates for governor are holding their third and final debate Tuesday night.

Wells was wearing a green shirt  at the time.  The arrest was peaceful with officers putting her in handcuffs and then taking her away in a squad car. It will be moderated by Tom Brokaw.

The Green Party is not a factor in this race, according to all polls.

Polls show Brown, the current attorney general and former governor and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman in a dead heat.
