49ers/Raiders Shared Stadium Has New Cheerleader

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spent the weekend in the Bay Area watching the Raiders win and the 49ers lose.

He left a little piece of advice during his stay that could have a big impact on Bay Area football as we know it.

During half-time at the Raider's game, Goodell told the Associated Press that he would encourage the Raiders to join forces with the 49ers in a stadium deal.

He said the two teams should look into sharing a stadium much like the New York Jets and the New York Giants do now.

Right now, the 49ers are well into a plan to build a new 68,500 seat stadium in the city of Santa Clara.  There has been quiet talk from the start that the Raiders would join that effort at some point.

So far, Goodell's voice has been the loudest to speak about the union out loud and in front of microphones.
