49ers Gather No Moss or Merriman

One silver lining to the San Francisco 49ers' terrible 2-6 record is their receiving priority treatment on the NFL waiver wire. The 49ers are fourth in line to grab waived players, with both Randy Moss and Shawne Merriman coming available Wednesday.

But the 49ers did not bite on either player, and both Moss and Merriman are both going to different teams.

The 49ers did in fact pass on Moss, and ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Moss was claimed by the Tennessee Titans. The Titans were all the way down at 22nd on the waiver wire priority order.

In the case of Shawne Merriman, the 49ers did not even get a shot at him. ESPN reports Merriman was claimed by the first team with a crack at him, the winless Buffalo Bills.
