The San Francisco 49ers will open the 2012 NFL season in a nationally televised game from historic Lambeau Field.
Jim Harbaugh will lead his team against the Green Bay Packers in a game that will feature former No. 1 pick Alex Smith facing off against former California Golden Bear Aaron Rodgers, who many 49ers' fans wish they had selected instead.
The 49ers will play in five prime time games, the most allowed for any NFL team.
San Francisco will host the Detroit Lions on Sept. 16 on NBC’s Sunday Night Football for its week 2 home opener.
Then the 49ers will host the Seattle Seahawks for a Thursday night matchup on NFL Network in week 7.
The team will then host the Chicago Bears on Nov. 19 for a Week 11 Monday night game.
And then during week 15, the team will again be featured on NBC's Sunday Night Football against the New England Patriots.

For the Raiders, it marks the sixth time in eight seasons that the team will open its season in prime time.
Oakland will start the season against San Diego, at Miami, against Pittsburgh, at Denver, bye, at Atlanta, against Jacksonville, at Kansas City, against Tampa Bay, at Baltimore, against New Orleans, at Cincinnati, against Cleveland, against Denver, against Kansas City, at Carolina, at San Diego.
The 49ers entire schedule in order will be at Green Bay, against Detroit, at Minnesota, at the New York Jets, against Buffalo, against the New York Giants, against Seattle, at Arizona, bye, against ST. Louis, against Chicago, at New Orleans, at ST. Louis, against Miami, at New England, at Seattle, against Arizona.
