Bethea ‘just Continuing the Conversation' by Raising Fist

While Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid knelt during the national anthem prior to Monday's season opener against the Rams, just a few feet behind were teammates Antoine Bethea and Eli Harold, standing, but raising their right fists in the air.

Bethea and Harold were exhibiting their own form of a silent protest, which Bethea, on Tuesday, addressed on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

"At the end of the day, it's just continuing the conversation. That was my stance on it. If you look at the news, listen to the news, there are obviously some issues that hopefully are addressed, and by a couple of the players taking a stance, that's what we're doing and just bringing attention to the issues," Bethea told Alex Marvez and Bill Polian on the Late Hits show. "But at the end of the day, you can have your formal protest any way you want it, but at the end of day we gotta come to action and make things...make of this change. And it's not just players, it's everybody. So at the end of the day, we can come together and make change."
