49ers/Jaguars: Live Game Notes from Candlestick

Niners look for 5th win of season

The Niners face Jacksonville in a must-win game to keep their playoff hopes alive. This is the Jaguars first ever game in San Francisco. Follow along with our live notes and join the conversation from Candlestick.

Linebacker Takeo Spikes is active for the 49ers after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Spikes missed last week’s 30-24 loss at Green Bay and was replaced by Matt Wilhelm. Spikes strained his left hamstring just before halftime of a win over the Chicago Bears on Nov. 12 and hadn’t played since.

The 49ers had just four active receivers Sunday: Michael Crabtree, Brandon Jones, Josh Morgan and Jason Hill.

Cornerback Tyron Brackenridge moved into the Jaguars’ starting lineup in place of inactive former Pro Bowler Rashean Mathis, who missed his second straight game with a groin injury.

San Francisco receiver Isaac Bruce was inactive for the second time this season. He is nursing an ankle injury.
