49ers kicker Joe Nedney is missing the game with a hamstring injury. Newly signed Ricky Schmitt will handle the kicking duties in his first career regular-season game. Backup running back Glen Coffee is out with an injured quadriceps.

Detroit Lions middle linebacker Larry Foote will miss Sunday’s game  with a foot injury. Foote will be replaced in the starting lineup by DeAndre Levy. Foote had started 94 consecutive games. Starting cornerback, and former Raider, Phillip Buchanon is also out with a shoulder injury and replaced by Anthony Henry.
