A's to San Jose in Limbo

Selig Remains Vague; Giants Remain Opposed

19 months...and counting.

The Oakland A's are waiting for an answer...any answer...about their proposed move to San JoseBaseball Commissioner Bud Selig provided the same rhetoric when asked about the A's stalemate.

"The committee is hard at work," said Selig in a 1-on-1 interview with NBC Bay Area.  "They will report back to me in the near future."

Also waiting for Selig's decision -- or perhaps driving his decision -- are the San Francisco Giants.

With the Giants basking in the World Series spotlight, their leverage and influence might have increased in regards to the A's proposed move.  The Giants remain bitterly opposed to the A's South Bay plans.

"There's a lot of work to do, quite frankly'" added Selig.

When asked if he had a gut feeling about a decision, Selig was quick to answer "I don't know.  I'm hoping in the near future."

The A's are hoping as well.
