Back at the Tank

It's the Avalanche series starting over from scratch

It's not do or die, but it's still darn important that the San Jose Sharks pull off win No. 3 tonight at the Tank against the Colorado Avalanche.

It's about time they do it like the experts and their fans have expected from the beginning,  with ease and power, not to mention within regulation.

Looking at the line, the math and the age of the athletes on the ice, San Jose wins this series with ease.

But that is not how the series is going down. All four previous games have been decided by just one goal and three of the four have gone to overtime.  Talk of a curse is commonplace around water coolers everywhere in the South Bay as people ask, "How can this be happening?"

Bizarre moments and freak plays are the current storyline. Three of Colorado's nine total goals got in the net courtesy of Sharks players themselves.  One of those goals, by Dan Boyle, is sure to live on in Sharks' lore for years to come.

Here's hoping the team can continue the roll that started in the final second of Tuesday night's game in Colorado.

Joe Pavelski caught a loose puck deep in Colorado's zone and then beat Craig Anderson with a shot into the right corner.  No tricks. Just good hockey.
