Colin Kaepernick Is No Alex Smith

He's no Alex Smith but that's exactly what most San Francisco 49ers' fans want to hear.

Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick reportedly scored a 37 on his Wonderlic exam, according to the National Football Post.

Smith had the second highest score for a quarterback in Wonderlic history before being beat out this year by Greg McElroy (43) and Missouri's Blaine Gabbert (42).

The news comes just a day before 49ers' Head Coach Jim Harbaugh is suppose to be in Reno for a private workout with Kaepernick.

The former Nevada star is just one of several quarterback Harbaugh and General Manager Trent Baalke could consider in the second round of next month's draft.

Thursday Harbaugh was in Missouri watching Gabbert complete 44 of his 49 throws.
Wednesday 49ers brass was in Florida watching quarterback Christian Ponder throw. Harbaugh reportedly was not on hand.

For the record, Ponder scored a 35 on his Wonderlic.
