Giants Win Again in Cactus League Play

Lincecum whiffs 7 as Giants beat White Sox 5-3

Tim Lincecum struck out seven in 5 1-3 innings to help the San Francisco Giants to a 5-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.       

The right-hander allowed one run on three hits and walked three to lead the defending World Series champions.

San Francisco's six through nine hitters combined for 10 of the team's 15 hits and drove in all five runs. Brandon Belt had three hits, including a solo home run.       

Mark Buehrle started for the White Sox, allowing one run on seven hits over five innings. He had allowed eight runs in six innings over his last two starts.

Alex Rios tripled in a run for the White Sox in the second inning and Brent Lillibridge hit a two-run homer in the seventh.

Left-hander Jonathan Sanchez is up next. He will take the mound for his fourth spring training start Thursday against the Angels in a 7 p.m.
