The Games have officially begun!

What a night! The anticipation was building all day for the Opening Ceremony at the 2014 Sochi Games.

Before the ceremony, you could feel the excitement. Spectators, volunteers, and athletes filed into Fisht Stadium, which can seat 40,000 people.

They didn’t know what to expect. The Russians had kept it very tight-lipped.
