McNabb Wants Vick to Play Now

Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb wants Michael Vick on the field immediately.

Vick has served his time and McNabb wishes that the disgraced quarterback was eligible to play in the season opener at Carolina, McNabb said.

D-Mac was disappointed for Vick and believes he should have the opportunity to play in the first game, McNabb said.

Vick will not be reinstated until the third game of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 27. He can't practice with the team until he is placed on the roster.

Despite not being on the roster Vick will travel with the team to Carolina, Eagles coach Andy Reid said Wednesday. Reid also said Vick will watch practice.

Vick signed with Philadelphia on Aug. 13 and played in two preseason games. He hasn't played a regular season NFL game since 2006. In Dec. 2007 he was sentenced to prison for his role in a dogfighting ring.
