Raider Sued for Hitting a Guy with His Car

A little distraction for Oakland Raiders rookie linebacker Rolando McClain as the Raiders get ready for the Pittsburgh Steelers. McClain is being sued for $75,000 for allegedly hitting a guy with his car.

CBS42 in Birmingham, Alabama reports that McClain is being sued a University of Alabama student for supposedly hitting him with his car in a 2008 incident. McClain attended the University of Alabama from 2007-2009.

The incident occurred two years ago, and McClain had been disciplined for the incident by coach Nick Saban but was not prosecuted by police. The civil lawsuit, of course, drops now that McClain is playing under a five-year, $40 million contract, as opposed to when he was a starving student at Alabama.

That is probably not by accident.

If you're interested in a breakdown of the incident, the CBS42 message boards are hopping with supposed first-hand accounts of people who swear they were there and saw the whole thing. These may or may not be accurate.

McClain has not commented on the matter. Then again McClain doesn't comment on much of anything, he's given one interview in the eight months since the Raiders drafted him.

Joe Kukura is a freelance writer who admits that Rolando McClain does have a tendency to bodyslam people.
