San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday embattled defensive tackle Ray McDonald will be on the team's flight to Dallas for the Niners' Week 1 game against the Cowboys – and he will play on Sunday.

"Yes. As it stands now, yes," Harbaugh said when asked about McDonald's status. "He has the liberty to play in this game."
McDonald, 30, is out on $25,000 bail following his arrest on domestic violence charges in an upscale San Jose neighborhood early Sunday. His status was undetermined following his arrest.
Harbaugh said on Tuesday the team has "no tolerance" for domestic violence, but he cautioned against any rush to judgment regarding McDonald's arrest. He also said Tuesday that he would not allow any player who was found guilty of domestic violence on his team.[[273455831, C]]
The decision to let McDonald play – despite the allegations – isn't just controversial with 49ers fans, but also with former players. Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott said Friday he thinks the team should bench McDonald.
McDonald's next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 15.
Harbaugh also confirmed on Friday that right tackle Anthony Davis (shoulder) will be out and right guard Alex Boone will be active for Sunday's game, according to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco.
