Report: Giants Still ‘in the Mix' for Yoenis Cespedes

The Giants have made two big moves this offseason to enhance their starting rotation with the additions of Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija. But, left field still remains a question mark in the eyes of many.

Yoenis Cespdes coming back to the Bay, this time with the Orange and Black, would certainly be the biggest splash of San Francisco's offseason.

The Cuban outfielder's market is starting to take shape and the Giants are still "in the mix" for his services, reports Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.

In 2015, the four-year veteran had his best season to date. Between the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets, Cespedes hit .291/.328/.542 with 35 home runs and 105 RBI.

Cespedes, 30, won the American League Gold Glove and finished 13th in National League MVP voting in 2015. For his career, the powerful righty has slashed .271/.319/.486 with 106 long balls.

Throughout his career, Cespedes has experience in all three outfield spots. The Giants are locked in right field with Hunter Pence, and Angel Pagan, who turns 35 next season, will be back and center field before he becomes a free agent at the end of 2016.

Left field is currently a combination of Gregor Blanco, Jarrett Parker and Mac Williamson in San Francisco. Cespedes has played 409 career games in left, his most out of all three outfield positions.
