Singletary Can't Remember Plays from 49ers Game

The San Francisco 49ers21-0 loss to Tampa Bay may have been a forgettable performance, but coach Mike Singletary is taking this forgetting thing a little bit too far.

When asked why the 49ers punted in the third quarter instead of a attempting a rather makeable field goal attempt from the Buccaneers' 33-yard line, Singletary could not remember why that decision was made. In fact, he couldn't even remember that any of this happened.

"What point in the game?" Singletary told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, when asked about the decision.

When reminded at what point in the game, Singletary began describing a different fourth quarter possession series in which the 49ers went for it on a fourth down. He was politely reminded that he was answering the wrong question.

"I'm trying to figure out exactly...," Singletary said, before just guessing. "I guess we felt we wanted to pin them back, and maybe having a new kicker, the thought process was how about we just go ahead and try to put it on the defense."

And we thought things were bad back when Jimmy Raye was only forgetting the names of the plays.
