Va. Fourth Grader May Have Broken World Running Record with Half-Marathon in 1:35

A 10-year-old from Virginia may have broken a world record in running.

Rheinhardt Harrison, of Falls Church, ran a half marathon Sunday in Alexandria's Running Festival in one hour, 35 minutes and two seconds, The Washington Post reported. The time is a record for his age, breaking a previous record by more than two minutes.

By the way, the half marathon was his first.

The only thing between Rheinhardt and the world record is certification from the Association of Road Racing Statisticians.

The Thomas Jefferson Elementary School fourth grader already holds the world record for a 10-year-old in a 10-mile run. On April 6 he ran the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run in one hour, 11 minutes and 24 seconds.
