Who Is… Jake Kaminski

Jake Kaminski is an archer for the U.S. In 2012, he won an Olympic gold medal in the team event alongside Brady Ellison and Jacob Wukie. Kaminski qualified for the Rio Olympics by finishing third at the U.S. Olympic Trials. 

Archery beginnings
Kaminski started shooting archery at six years old at a Junior Olympic Development Club near his hometown of Elma, New York. When he was 15, he switched from compound shooting, a non-Olympic event, to recurve shooting with the hopes of becoming an Olympian.

Olympic experience 
Kaminski made his Olympic debut at the 2012 London Games. He won a silver medal in the team event. 

Off the range 
Kaminski lives in Gainesville, Florida with his wife, Amanda, who coaches archery at the Newberry Easton Sports Development Foundation. When he is not competing, Kaminski enjoys racing R/C cars and developing new archery equipment with his sponsors.
