Great Britain’s Adam Peaty is poised to become a major star for his country in the pool during the 2016 Rio Olympics. He boasted the world record in the 100m breaststroke coming into the Games and already broke it in Rio.
He also won three gold medals at the 2015 World Championships: 50m breaststroke (not an Olympic event), 100m breaststroke (in world record time) and the mixed 4x100m medley relay.
But his grandmother Mavis – branding herself the #OlympicNan – is the most adorable person on Twitter, and Peaty’s biggest supporter. Her Twitter bio states simply, “Proud Nan to a World Champion Breaststroker.”
