A's Place Mark Canha on 10-day IL; Recall Ryan Buchter From Triple-A

The struggling A's received more bad news on Monday.

Outfielder/first baseman Mark Canha has been on the 10-day injured list. The team recalled reliever Ryan Buchter from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

Canha left Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays in the eighth inning. He has been diagnosed with a sprained right wrist after a lingering issue the past few games.

Canha, 30, has been struggling this season. He's hitting just .200 with two home runs and four RBI in 18 games played.

Known for crushing left-handed pitchers, Canha is batting a lowly .238 when facing southpaws in 25 at-bats.

Buchter, 32, has appeared in 13 games for the A's this season. He has 7.04 ERA over 7 2/3 innings. He also pitched a perfect inning in Triple-A on April 26.
