OAKLAND - Stephen Piscotty returns to the lineup as the A's open a three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels on Monday afternoon at the Coliseum.
Piscotty will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth after missing the last two games with a stomach illness. Mark Canha will handle right field duties and hit sixth.
Speaking of illness, Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy was a late scratch due to a stomach bug of his own. The former A will be replaced behind the plate by Dustin Garneau.
Another former A will be on the hill for Los Angeles, as right-hander Trevor Cahill makes his 11th start of the season. It's been a struggle for the 31-year-old, who is just 2-4 with a 6.43 ERA.
Oakland counters with right-hander Chris Bassitt. The 30-year-old is off to the best start of his career, carrying a 2.48 ERA and 1.07 WHIP into his seventh outing of the season. Bassitt has registered 44 strikeouts compared to just 15 walks in 36 1/3 innings.
Here are the full lineups for the A's-Angels game, which will be broadcast on NBC Sports California and the MyTeams app. Coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. PT, with first pitch at 1:07.
