A's Vs. Royals Lineups: Khris Davis on Paternity Leave, Corban Joseph to DH

Khris Davis will be out of the lineup for the A's on Wednesday as the team continues a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals. Davis' absence, this time, is due to paternity leave.

He could miss a few days. Someone will be brought up to replace him, but manager Bob Melvin has not yet said who that might be.

As for Wednesday's lineup at Kauffman Stadium, Corban Joseph will take over at the designated hitter spot for the A's, while Jurickson Profar gets the start at second base. Tanner Roark will get the start on the bump and hopes to continue an impressive road campaign. He currently boasts a 5-2 record with a 3.90 ERA in 11 starts away from his home turf.

And as far as his career numbers against the Royals go, the right-hander has had his way with K.C. in a relativley small sample size. He's 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two appearances (one start) against the Royals.

Jakob Junis will get the start for the Royals and he's coming off a tough outing in Cleveland.
