Aging Brandi: Still Potent

This soccer mom is still kickin'

One of the most well known 'soccer moms' on the planet is at it again.

Brandi Chastain has a new job.  Chastain will suit up for the FC Gold Pride in the inaugural season of the Women's Professional Soccer league.

Motherhood and age have not slowed her down.

The 40 year-old Chastain will play alongside teammates who are almost half of her age.  She's even older than her head coach -- 33 year-old Albertin Montoya.

"When you see some of the younger players pulling out with soreness and injuries and you have Brandi still out there playing her heart out, there's a lot to be said for that," Montoya told the Mercury News recently.

Chastain is a three-time Olympic medalist from San Jose and burst onto the international scene after her World Cup goal in 1997.  You remember, the goal which led to her sports bra.

Chastain will make her FC Gold Pride debut in April when the season kicks off in Santa Clara, Ca.
