Chris Heston is expected to be back in San Francisco this weekend.
The former Giants pitcher, who was with the Dodgers Triple-A affiliate, was claimed off waivers Wednesday by the Twins.
Minnesota begins a three-game series at AT&T Park on Friday night.
The Twins are Heston's fourth team since December.
The Giants dealt Heston to Seattle on Dec. 7 for a player to be named later. After making just two appearances for the Mariners, he was put on waivers and claimed by the Dodgers.
Heston reported to Triple-A Oklahoma City and pitched in one game. He gave up three earned runs in three innings of relief.
