If Anthony Davis' father got his wish, his son would not be traded to Boston.
Why does Anthony Davis Sr. feel so strongly about the Celtics?
"I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas," he told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "No loyalty. Guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him."
In case you forgot -- Thomas played through a hip injury during the 2016-17 season before he ultimately was shut down following Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Additionally, his sister tragically passed away just as the playoffs started, but he didn't miss a single game.

"This is just my opinion, not Anthony's," Davis Sr. added. "I've just seen things over the years with Boston, and there's no loyalty."

Does dad realize that his son isn't exactly showing loyalty to the Pelicans by demanding a trade when he's under contract through the 2019-20 season? We could talk a lot about "loyalty" in professional sports, but we won't go into all of that right now.
Earlier this week, Yahoo's Chris Haynes reported that Davis isn't targeting the Celtics as a possible trade destination because he and his camp are skeptical that Kyrie Irving will re-sign with Boston in free agency.

All indications point to Boston offering the Pelicans a huge haul for Davis, but the Celtics aren't allowed to trade for the six-time All-Star until July 1 (as long as Kyrie remains on the roster).
So they are simply hoping that the Pelicans do not strike a deal before the Feb. 7 trade deadline. At this point, it's anybody's guess as to what ultimately happens.
