Antonio Brown Videographer Claims Jon Gruden Let Him Use Recorded Call

Antonio Brown's video featuring a phone call with Raiders coach Jon Gruden will be used in textbooks for years.

Brown, who signed with the New England Patriots shortly after Oakland released him at his request Saturday, appeared to make the call in California, which is a two-party consent state. That means each participant in the conversation has to agree to be recorded, and Brown's video -- which included a clip of Gruden candidly asking the star wide receiver if he wanted to be a Raider -- didn't exactly paint Gruden in a flattering light.

But Alejandro Narcisio, the editor of the stylishly produced YouTube salvo, claimed Monday that Gruden did agree to have his audio used in the video. Narcisio told ESPN's "The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz" that Brown's marketing manager informed them they needed to get Gruden's permission to use the call in the video, and Narcisio expected Gruden to say no.

"So, my whole thing the entire time when we were waiting for Gruden's response was that Gruden's gonna be like, 'AB, I love you man, but that's disrespectful, but I can't be having you post our own conversations.'" Narcisio said. "Which is the response that I think anyone would think is gonna happen. And then he responds like 15 minutes later, three texts, he goes, 'Wow! I love it! Loved it!' And I'm like, 'What??'"

Although Gruden agreed to have his recording used after the fact, it's unclear whether or not Gruden knew he was being recorded in the first place. Narcisio said he "wasn't really thinking at that point" of telling Brown to inform Gruden he was being recorded when he called, but Gruden's alleged response is backed up ESPN's Chris Mortensen's Friday report, citing a Raiders source, that Gruden thought the video was "awesome."

If Brown tries the same thing in Foxboro, it's hard to see Bill Belichick having the same reaction. Well, unless it involves the "Jerky Boys."
